Introduction

Calling all aspiring young performers in Brussels! The International British Theatre School, in educational partnership with Bogaerts International School, is proud to present our Summer Vocational Short Courses.

We identified a gap in professional arts education: young performers often have to travel to London to receive industry-standard training, or they lack the industry knowledge required to secure professional representation. We are changing that by bringing qualified British industry professionals directly to you. Our goal is strict Vocational Preparation, tailored perfectly to your child's age and experience level.

Choose Your Track

Junior Track: Acting & Performance Technique 🎭

  • Ages: 6 - 12 (Divided into Foundation: Ages 6–8 and Elementary/Intermediate: Ages 9–12)
  • Overview: Designed as a Foundation Level introduction to professional stage work. We equip students with technical stagecraft, public speaking confidence, and social skills.
  • What You Will Achieve: Learn Scenography & Prop Design, engage in daily Physical Conditioning, and experience Ensemble Building. Every student is cast in a specific role with a minimum of 6 lines to memorize.
  • The Finale: The week concludes with a 25-minute Theatre Production to demonstrate the skills learned to an audience of parents, along with a Certificate of Achievement.

Senior Track: Acting, Audition Technique & Industry Showcase 🎬

  • Ages: 12 - 17 (Divided into Seniors: Ages 12–14 and Pre-Professionals: Ages 15–17)
  • Overview: A Pre-Professional Masterclass designed specifically for actors ready to take the next step toward professional representation. Requires prior acting experience and a strict commitment to learning.
  • What You Will Achieve: Master Audition Technique, Self-Taping Mastery, and Repertoire Building. Attend dedicated seminars on "The Business of Acting" (crafting an acting CV, selecting headshots, and approaching UK acting agents).
  • The Finale: The week concludes with a Professional Showcase and Mock Agent Panel, allowing students to perform under industry-standard pressure, along with a Certificate of Pre-Professional Training. (Note: Evening character research and script-learning assignments are expected).

P.S. Talent is only half the equation. Whether we are teaching young children to project their voice professionally on stage, or teaching young adults how to turn raw passion into a highly castable packageβ€”we channel energy into art.

P.P.S. Our faculty visits your location only once per year. Do not miss this opportunity to bridge the gap between amateur dramatics and the professional industry close to home!
